Week of November 12, 2017

For this week, we are asking everyone to:

1. Read every night. Please make sure your child reads every night.  When they are finished with each book, they will take an AR Quiz.  Then they will take home a new book.   :-)

***We are tracking points!  Please make sure your child is reading every night to help him/her meet their weekly goal.  Most children will have to read AND pass 2-3 quizzes per week.

 1.   Your child is responsible for completing 1 journal entry over the 6 day cycle.  Your child can write about anything and your child has a page in their journal that already has some ideas listed.  Your child will receive a grade of 1-4 based on the following criteria:

        1.  A topic sentence

        2.  Writing that is on-topic

        3.  Supporting details

        4.  A concluding sentence

        5.  About a page in length

        6.  Complete Sentences with Capitals and Stop Marks

        7.  Handed in on time

        8.  1 entry

        9.  A different date for each entry.

***To help make grading easier, we have given the children different days to turn in their journals.  Please make sure your child has his/her journal ready on their given day.  Here is a breakdown of what days the children are to turn in their journals:
