The Dover Union Free School District offers a variety of Special Education programs in the least restrictive environment to meet the needs of each student.  The District offers special classes, resource room, collaborative classes, consultant teacher and related services (speech and language, counseling, occupational therapy, physical therapy).  Additionally, the services of BOCES, NYS Education Department approved private schools and other agencies are utilized when needed.  Early identification of the need for special services is vital and referrals to the Committee on Special Education and Committee on Preschool Special Education may come from parents, teacher, principals, counselors, and doctors.
