Band members are primarily graded on their preparedness for their lesson.  After all, learning can only take place if the student has come with the necessary materials.  Each week the members are given 1-4 points according to the following:

Point Break Down

2        pts. for having their instrument

1        point for having signed practice minutes (see “Homework”)

.5       point for having their music

+      .5        point for having a pencil

4        points total.

The average of the points received through this 4-point system translates into each student’s quarterly report card grade.  Students are informed of their running average during each lesson.
