FREE INFANT CARE AT THE ASTOR EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER
The Astor Center in Wingdale is currently accepting applications for the Infant Room, as there will soon be two open slots for infants between the ages of six weeks and eighteen months of age. Interested young, first-time parents should call the center at 832-3331 to discuss how to qualify and register for this program, which provides free child care from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on weekdays.
"OPEN ACCESS" APPOINTMENTS AT THE ASTOR COUNSELING CENTER IN DOVER
Parents can now bring their child (up to 18 years of age) directly to the clinic, without a prior appointment, for counseling services on Mondays from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This immediate service is also available in the Poughkeepsie Clinic (46 Lincoln Avenue) each weekday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. If you have questions, call the clinic at 877-6200 or Mrs. Stevens at school (832-4520/4521).
The Bereavement Center affiliated with Hospice, Inc. and located in Poughkeepsie offers bereavement groups for children and teens. A parent group is also provided for adults who bring their children to a group. An intake is required. To get more information or to make an appointment, call 485-2273 and ask for Emma or Marianne.

Family Services, Inc. is a county agency that offers various educational and counseling services to county residents. Among these are parenting classes for teen parents, Battered Women's Services (485-5550), services for victims of crimes/sexual abuse, information about food pantries, and other counseling services.
