SUMMER READING AT DOVER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
We are excited to once again offer a challenge to all students for their summer reading goals. You could win an Ice Cream Party for your class! The details are below:
1. Students may read any book that is in the AR system. You can search for books through the AR Book Finder, which can be found here: http://www.arbookfind.com/default.aspx . There are literally thousands of books, so probably almost any book you have at home would work, or the local public library has many, many more to choose from. Their hours are 10 to 8 on weekdays, 10 to 4 on Saturdays.
2. Students read the book(s), then take AR quizzes on them. Quizzes can be taken at Dover Elementary School, Tuesdays through Thursdays, from 9 to 12. If you don't know your username or password, someone will be there to help you. You can read/take quizzes on as many books as you would like in each sitting. You may have the book with you to make sure you have the correct author and title, but you may not use the book to find the answers.
3. If you pass the quiz, you earn "AR Points." The scale is graduated, so if you get a 100 you get all the points, 90 earns less points, etc. (Lower level books will have 5 questions, upper level books will have 10 questions).
4. The "system" will keep track of your points, so there is no need to print out certificates. All students are in competition with each other, and when you come back in September the class with the most points will have an Ice Cream Party!

KEEP YOUR READING SKILLS UP ALL SUMMER!
