  EXPECTATIONS

Welcome to the 2013-14 school year.  This outline provides expectations and grading policies for social studies and ELA classes.   The aides and I will encourage as much independence as possible while differentiating learning in accordance with IEP goals, as well as with the Common Core Standards.

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS

1.)    Show respect for yourself, property, and others.

2.)   Be responsible by being on time, on task, and prepared for class.

3.)   Speak in a respectful manner.

4.)   Speak one at a time.

Should any consequences need to be implemented, they include:

1.)    One verbal warning

2.)   Second verbal warning

3.)   Removal from the classroom for 5-10 minutes, followed by a brief conference with the teacher

4.)   Phone call home

5.)   Written referral in conjunction with administrative intervention

Materials that should not be used in class:  Cell phones, MP3 players/IPods, portable DVD players, video games, or ANY OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES OF ANY KIND.   They are NOT conducive to learning, and therefore have NO use in my class.  Students will have access to computers in the classroom using their school user IDs and passwords. The only technical device that might come in handy would be headphones, as we tend to fall short when it comes to working headphones.
