Welcome, to the Dover Union Free School District.  As you drive up the driveway to the High School/Middle School, you will see our seniors have painted pictures, murals, and symbols that represent their experience at Dover.  As you walk through our schools, you will see beautiful student-painted murals and doors in the Middle/High School, and in all of our schools there are numerous displays of student writing, art, and projects.  If you heard the speeches of our students at the 8th grade moving-up ceremony and graduation, there was a common theme - sense of community.  We take great pride and go to great lengths to embrace this strong sense of community and connectedness to Dover.

It is this theme that holds us together to provide the best possible education for the students of Dover.  Our commitment to work together for the benefit of everyone is woven into the rigorous curriculum, professional development, professional learning communities, developing a fully inclusive school, our character education programs, scheduling practices, and our extra-curricular activities.

We want everyone to be connected to our great school, receive the benefits of it, and contribute to make it better.  I will work hard to continue with the great traditions of this community and give our stakeholders the opportunity to live to their calling.

Respectfully,

Michael Tierney
Superintendent of Schools

Water tests conducted by the Dutchess County Department of Health have found that the Middle/High School nitrate limits exceed acceptable levels which could affect the health of children 6 months old and younger. Wingdale and Dover Elementary are not affected and have separate water sources.
