Welcome to the Dover UFSD

Welcome to the Dover Union Free School District website. The Dover Union Free School District is located in the scenic and historic Mid-Hudson Valley. Nestled between the Taconic and Berkshire Mountains , this area of eastern Dutchess County consists of beautiful rolling hills, streams, and peaceful country living.

It is also known as the Harlem Valley because of the presence of the Metro-North Railroad Harlem Line that starts just north of Dover and ends at Grand Central Station in New York City.

Our school district currently educates approximately 1,755 students K-12. The Wingdale Elementary School has 351 students covering grades K-2, and the Dover Elementary School has 361 students in grades 3-5. The Dover Middle/High School enrolls 412 students in grades 6-8 and 631 students in grades 9-12.

We believe our schools are simply a wonderful place to be. An outstanding staff, coupled with an extremely supportive community and wonderful students help make Dover a special place to be.

Continual program enhancements and the strive for excellence are the norm in Dover. Facility upgrades, technology enhancements, the implementation of full day kindergarten, the addition of numerous extra curricular activities, ample support programs, and small class size are some of the most recent and ongoing efforts of our district. From our immaculate buildings and grounds, to our warm and welcoming school climate and our caring, hard-working and innovative staff, it is evident that the Dover Schools are a special place to be.

We are a united school/community dedicated to continual improvement and providing the best education and environment that we can to our deserving students. While much hard work remains, the rewards are great as we watch our students grow and prosper.

Any time that you have questions, concerns or suggestions regarding our schools, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Craig T. Onofry, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
