In July 2025, the New York State Legislature passed Desha's Law, which requires schools to develop and implement Cardiac Emergency Response Plans (CERPs) to address sudden cardiac arrest incidents on school grounds and during school-sponsored events. In accordance with this law, CERPs have been developed. They are incorporated into each of the Dover Union Free School District's confidential Building-Level Emergency Response Plan and the District-Wide Safety Plan.
The updated District-Wide Safety Plan can be found on our website at doverschools.org under the District Information and Required Notifications page. The revised plan will be adopted at the September 9th BOE Meeting taking place at 6:00 p.m.in the Dover Middle/High School Library.
The public is invited to communicate any comments or questions via email at boe@doverschools.org.
