Safety Plan

The 2025/2026 School-Wide District Safety Plan has been updated.

The updated plan will be open for Public Comment at the January 13, 2026, Board Meeting held at 6:00 p.m. in the Dover High School Library. Following Public Comment, the Board of Education will vote on approving the updated plan at the same meeting. Once approved the updated District Wide Safety Plan will then be filed with the NYS Office of the Commissioner of Education.

Updates include:

  • Each district-wide safety plan (effective January 20, 2026) and building-level emergency response plan (effective September 1, 2025) must include a cardiac emergency response plan (CERP).

  • ● AEDs must be clearly marked, accessible, and maintained consistent with guidelines set by the American Heart Association or other nationally recognized guidelines focused on emergency cardiovascular care.

  • ● All staff must receive annual training on sudden cardiac arrest, and each district must certify compliance to the Commissioner.

  • ● New employees hired after the start of the school year must receive training within 30 days of hire or as part of new-hire training.
