Hello Students and Families! Here are some updates and informational items for you:
Our counselors have invited college representatives to DHS for a College Panel on Wednesday, March 11th at 6 PM. Students are encouraged to learn more about what colleges are looking for in applicants. Hear advice on 4-year private schools, 4-year state schools, and 2-year community colleges. We held the 3rd Student Leadership Summit on Friday, 2/6 and the student leaders did a great job engaging in honest conversations about the December Focus Group feedback and their ideas for school improvement items. Student leaders will be facilitating another round of Focus Groups in early March to share their plans.
Counselors will start meeting with students soon to select courses for next year. Check out the DHS Course Selection Guide for 2026-27 to learn more about the classes being offered. All students are encouraged to challenge themselves by taking electives or advanced classes. If you are interested in taking AP classes or being in the Winners' Circle Project next year you must complete this online application by March 20th. Make sure you check your email regularly after you apply. There may be follow up questions from teachers regarding your application or they may ask to meet with you.
